Encode

Encode is a series of works which culminated in a solo exhibition at Sabbia Gallery, Sydney, 2 - 26 November 2011. The series focuses on technology and culture as psychological ‘environments’, which permeate individual experience and inevitably become inseparable from the self. This series is made up of six works, which explore the layering of digital imagery into and onto the glass. The artwork imagery is translated into computer code and then re-layered back into the work. A quiet, contemplative palette has been employed to create a suggestive atmosphere in which these ideas can be visually considered.

Cipher

Cipher is a large series of works, which were created for a solo exhibition at Bullseye Gallery, Portland, Oregon USA, 5 October – 26 November 201l. Several of the works were also exhibited by Bullseye Gallery as a part of the SOFA Chicago Art Fair 2011. A series of nine works, this exhibition explores the individual as both connected and detached from others and their environment. Through the use of digital code and the layering of cultural and textural imagery, this body of works explores the individual’s relationship with their environment and the inescapable influences the external world has on the self.
